rigged2, we got only 1" of rain last night.  We are probably 6" down for the year.   It's been pretty darn hot, too.  I do not spend a lot of time outside in the summer.   Thanks to the Little League World Series there is something to watch on TV.

We had droughts for a number of years but have been having rain lately. I read that a 15-year-old died when a tree fell on him about an hour from here. I don't live in a flood zone but have moisture challenges in my house.

MM and LarryT - sounds like SOME folks got some rain. We are in our annual July and August drought mode here. Everything that is supposed to be green is brown and crunchy - grass, trees, etc. I fear we may have lost another beautiful old oak tree, was noticing yesterday.  Burn ban on, of course. It's so wooded around here, if somebody was "spark" we'd look like summer in California.  Decided we have only two seasons here: muddy season or drought season. Yard either squishes or crunches.

Yes, MM, that was a rather interesting evening.   The good part was that it lasted only for about an hour for us.
