subject Points deducted

I am extremely interested to know why points are deducted off your main points for all games when you play games in the archives? It seems totaly unfair to be penalized for playing archive games. In one evening my total score went down 16 points. I started with on the 12th of May with 99,161. Now I am at 99,145. This needs to be addressed. In many of the games I had the lowest moves.

Thank you @suman12, I wonder what can be done about it, if anything.

I recall reading somewhere here that points are calculated through the taking into account of how your attempt(s) at a game compare to those of all other players' attempts at that game. If this is the case, then playing a game several times (in order to find the lowest move count, for example) may lower your average time on that game and thus lead to a recalculation of the points you are to be awarded for playing it.

The corollary of this is that if other people play a game subsequent to you their finishing times may affect the score you are awarded. It's probably possible to test this if you are one of the first to play a game (as soon as it is released) and then gauge how your score is affected over the course of the next 24 hours or so by the finishing times of other players.

Thank you jumpingbird. I have noted that my overall points go up with each subsequent players who attempt and finish. The more who finish the higher my points go. Also I have noted that I can play close to 30 times before points are deducted. Upon completion of a new game each day, my score will increase 32 or 33 points.

It's an interesting calculation that's being done when scores are awarded, it seems, and much more complicated than my feeble intellect can grasp. Your move counts are consistently super low, which deserves many kudos.
